While visuals initially attract your ideal clients and customers, your words make the connection. Copywriting seals the deal. It holds the substance, power, and true value of your Brand.

1. What skills should I look for when hiring a Content/Copywriter?
o Storytelling Proficiency
o Research Skills
o Unique to the Christian Market
o Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
True Writers frame how we all see things. I am a Writer first and a marketer second. I can use proven strategic methods to get your brand and your story out there, but it’s the telling/creation of your story that makes people want to read!
STORYTELLING PROFICIENCY:
Donald Miller, CEO of Storyline and author, says “Telling a good story is the key to being understood.”
Copywriting is Corporate storytelling. Character. Setting. Plot. Theme. Conflict. These all play a role in copywriting.
Crafting all of the elements of fiction writing that I’ve learned through the years from bestselling, award-winning novelists, will be put to work for you to make and/or raise money and build your Business or Organization.
If you need fundraising pieces written for your Christian organization, storytelling skills are critical to your success!
You may want to tell the stories of the families you’ve helped or the Donors whose lives have been changed by giving. Almost all fundraising pieces contain stories. You need to tell them well!
RESEARCH SKILLS:
Content that turns readers into buyers or givers must be both inspiring and credible. It needs to have stories that motivate the readers, and the narratives must be supported by credible research.
As an Historical Fiction Writer and Life-Story-Teller, research is the foundation stone on which I build the story-line. It is likewise just as essential in building your Business or Organization.
SEO (Search Engine Optimization):
Search Engine Optimization is the process by which a Website gets traffic through a Search Engine (i.e. Google, Bing, Go-Duck-Go, etc.). Unlike paid ads, SEO is free.
Three main players make up the Search Marketing landscape, each with a different motivation:
Searchers – People who type search queries into Search Engines
Search Engines – Programs that searchers use to find products, services, content and more on the internet
Marketers – The owners of websites and other channels that publish content and make offers to people on the Internet
“As a marketer and business owner, you want to maximize the amount of traffic, leads, and sales you get from search marketing. To do this, you must give searchers and search engines what they want.” -- Russ Henneberry – Content Strategy Master Coach, Consultant, Author and Speaker. (www.RussHenneberry.com )
Today’s Businesses and Organizations design their Website architecture to maximize their SEO benefits. As a SEO Certified Strategic Content Writer, I unite that design into well-researched, interesting, reader-centered text that fits into the architecture of the site.
2. What’s Unique to Christian Content Writing?
The Christian Market has several unique writing requirements that are sometimes used only in the Christian or Non-Profit Industries.
Fundraising Materials – Christian Ministries need funds to carry out their missions. Many of them acquire that money by asking people like you and me to give.
If you’re like most Christians, you give to Organizations whose work captures your heart. In most cases, those Organizations send you Emails, Letters, Newsletters and FB Posts to stay connected with you.
As a Content Writer and a Christian, I am markedly qualified to write these pieces. Some are informational and others are explicit appeals for money. Donors fund clear and urgent requests, so I am direct in asking for support.
Steward Donors – Some writing pieces inform the Donor and keep them connected to the Organization’s mission. For these, I tell the stories typical of the Organization’s work but have some unique slant.
As a Content Writing Expert, I can help Christian Organizations fulfill their missions and mandates by keeping them in touch with their Supporters.
Use of Testimonies and Bible Verses – The material I write for Businesses or Organizations will not sound like a Sermon or Sunday-School pamphlet. Though the Spiritual component needs to be communicated, it won’t be exaggerated either.
It only takes a well-placed Bible verse, Biblical story, or a Spiritual connection to contemporary lives/stories to create a powerful connection between your Mission and the work of Jesus on earth.
3. “Why do I need a Professional to write my Website and Marketing Content?”
“Content Marketing – especially with Stories - propels sales without the need for brash, outdated advertising or hype.
“In the early days of the Web, people would get bombarded with pop-up ads, banner ads, flashing animation ads, spam emails, hype-filled sales letters, and more.
“This has made web visitors tired of being “sold to”, so their guard is always up.
“As a result, marketers are now doing the opposite. Instead of leading with a “sell, sell, sell” mentality, it’s now all about building trust. Content marketing does this perfectly.” Rebecca Matter – President - American Writers & Artists Assoc. (AWAI) (www.AWAI.com)
4. What is SEO Copywriting and why is it important to my business?
Search Engine Optimization is the process by which a website gets traffic through a search engine (i.e. Google, Bing, Go-Duck-Go, etc.). Unlike paid ads, SEO is free.

5. I need this done as soon as possible. How long does the writing process take?
Together at our Proposal meeting, we’ll determine a timeline for each Action-Step outlined within each Phase of the Project. The schedule will include mandatory response times for your review of each Phase (Message Direction, Copy Drafts, etc.) to stay on track.
6. Do You Accept Payment Plans?
Absolutely! The best investments are made with ease and confidence, so if that looks like dividing a package into payments, I’m more-than-happy to accommodate you!
I typically require a 50% deposit to secure your project on my calendar and the last 50% after all of the files are delivered. If you have something else in mind, let’s talk about how we might make that happen for you.
